ILOILO City – A man believed to be mentally unstable landed in jail for trying to kill his brother in Brgy. Sto. Domingo, Arevalo district.
Saturday night, the 39-year-old Rommel Lapating slashed the neck of his brother, Raymundo, 37, using a still to be identified sharp object.
The incident happened around 8:50 p.m. while the Lapating brothers were binge drinking with friends in their house.
A heated argument ensued between the brothers, with Rommel suddenly going for Raymundo’s neck.
Rommel then ran away from their house but was arrested after a short chase by some of his brother’s friends.
Other friends took Raymundo to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district./PN
