BACOLOD City – A 54-year-old man was stabbed in Sitio Bat-os, Barangay Zone 11, Talisay City, Negros Occidental. The suspect was his drinking buddy.
Leo Cabarles, a resident of Purok Sampaguita in the said village, sustained stab wounds on his hand and back. He was recuperating at a hospital.
Talisay City police identified his drinking buddy as 56-year-old Romeo Escubido, a resident of Sitio Bat-os.
While Cabarles, his uncle, Enrique Tajanlangit, and Escubido were having a drinking session on Sunday afternoon, March 26, an altercation ensued between Tajanlangit and Escubido, investigation showed.
Cabarles punched Escubido, and the latter retaliated by stabbing the victim, police said.
The suspect fled but was arrested in a follow-up operation. He was detained at the Talisay City Police Station./PN
