ILOILO – A man was declared “dead-on-arrival” at a hospital. He was stabbed by a neighbor in Sitio Katunggan, Barangay Bantud Fabrica, Dumangas town around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 20.
The victim was Winnie Gubane, 41, while the suspect was Mark Surita, 33. Both were construction workers.
Police Master Sergeant Ramon Baylon Jr., investigator of the Dumangas Municipal Police Station (MPS), said in a radio interview that the victim was on his way home on a motorcycle when attacked.
Authorities were unable to recover the knife used on Gubane.
Surita’s whereabouts were unknown as of this writing. The Dumangas police has launched a manhunt./PN
