ILOILO – A 19-year-old man was stabbed by a drunk passerby in Sitio Inayawan, Barangay De La Paz, Banate, Iloilo.
Victim Jerome Gomez was impaled on the stomach by suspect Edwin Arante, 40. Both are residents of the town.
Banate municipal police Lieutenant Dande Ilalto said the victim was hanging out at a sari-sari store playing a mobile game when the suspect approached him around 11:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 23.
“Ang suspek halin sa iban nga balay galing kay natam-an inum ginpapuli, pero nag balik nga may dala na nga kutsilyo. Wala man sang rason, gulpi niya lang ginbuno,” said Ilalto.
The victim is in stable condition, and the family is determined to file charges.
“Continuous ang aton monitoring kag hot pursuit, padayon man ang pag-coordinate naton sa barangay officials kag sa mga tanod incase nga nagpuli ang suspect” added Ilalto./PN
