ILOILO City – A drunken man stabbed dead his drinking buddy in Barangay Canabajan, Calinog, Iloilo.
Victim Sofronio Palencia Jr., 30, of the said barangay died of chest wounds on Sunday at 8:45 p.m.
Suspect Francis Paspe of Barangay Calawinan, Dueñas remains at large as of this writing.
Initial investigation of the Calinog police showed that the victim and suspect had a heated argument while drinking. This eventually led one to stab the other.
In a separate but similar incident, another drunken man stabbed his drinking buddy in Barangay Tibiao, Calinog around 6 p.m. on Sunday, too.
Martin Panal, 26, of the said barangay sustained stab wounds in the abdomen and armpit. He is now being treated at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Suspect Jonathan Losaria, 34, also of the said barangay, was arrested by the police and detained at the lockup cell of the Calinog police./PN
