ROXAS City – A man was hacked and stabbed to death by his three younger brothers in Barangay Maalan, Maayon, Capiz.
The 43-year-old resident Roger Boluntad sustained hack and stab wounds on the body, municipal police chief Lieutenant Marc Anthony Garcia said.
Roger’s younger brothers Piji, 35, Fernando, 29, and Gerald, 25 were tagged suspects.
According to Garcia, the suspects – armed with bolo and knives – attacked Roger who was on his way home driving a motorcycle around 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 2.
“Wala pa sya kapanaog sa iya motor sang binuno kag linabo sya sang tatlo nya ka mga manghod,” Garcia told Panay News.
Garcia said they are looking into land dispute as the motive in the killing.
“Suno sa mga suspect gin-solo sang ila magulang ang gin panubli nga ulumhan sang ila ginikanan,” he added.
Piji, Fernando and Gerald tried to evade arrest but failed when police officers caught them in Barangay Manayupit, Maayon around 3 a.m. on Nov. 3.
The suspects were detained in the lock up cell of the Maayon municipal police station, facing charges./PN
