ILOILO City – A 29-year-old man died. He was stabbed in Sitio Nagato, Barangay Bolo, Maasin, Iloilo.

Rey Dann Siasat of Barangay Dacdacan, San Joaquin, Iloilo was brought to the Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital in Cabatuan town where he was declared “dead on arrival” on April 2.

Siasat was driving a motorcycle when stabbed in Sitio Nagato. He was on his way to Sitio Camansi, Barangay Layog, Maasin from a benefit dance in Sitio Marirong, Barangay Bolo.

Inspector Menrico Candaliza, Maasin police chief, identified a suspect – 55-year-old Gilbert Potillo of Barangay Layog.

A 10-inch knife was used on Siasat.

Potillo was arrested. Candaliza said a murder charge would be filed against the suspect.

The suspect and victim knew each other and were in fact with four other friends when they went to Sitio Marirong that was celebrating its fiesta.

They all left Sitio Marirong together, too, said Candaliza./PN
