BACOLOD City – A man was stabbed to death in Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Forty-six-year-old resident Peter Chiong sustained stab wounds on the body, police said.
According to police investigation, Chiong was attending a wake when 19-year-old resident Emidy Benecio stabbed him around 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
It was not immediately established what was the motive in the incident.
Chiong was brought to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
Benecio was detained in the lockup cell of the Silay City police station, facing charges./PN
