ILOILO – A man was fatally stabbed after attempting to force his way into his brother-in-law’s house in Barangay Golgota, Janiuay town early Saturday morning, September 28.
According to the Janiuay Municipal Police Station, the victim identified as 36-year-old Benjie Amahit, a resident of the town’s Barangay Jibolo, was reportedly intoxicated when he went to the house of Jovel Labaro, 56, at around 12:15 a.m.
Amahit insisted on entering the house, leading to a heated altercation that escalated into a stabbing incident, police added.
The victim succumbed to over 10 stab wounds in the different parts of his body.
Police immediately arrested the suspect.
They added that the victim’s family is determined to press murder charges against Labaro./PN
