BACOLOD City – His fellow construction worker stabbed him while they were having a drinking binge in Sitio Dalawdaw, Barangay Sicaba, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, police said.
The 20-year-old Hermil Besaca of Purok Yolanda, Barangay Caduhaan, Cadiz City sustained multiple stab wounds on the back, a police report showed.
He was brought to the Cadiz District Hospital for treatment.
Police identified the suspect as the 29-year-old Rogelio Del Rosario III of Purok Kawilihan, Barangay Sicaba.
Del Rosario allegedly used an 11-inch knife to stab Besaca around 7 p.m. on Sunday, the police added.
The two had an altercation, investigation revealed. It was however unclear what triggered their argument.
Personnel from the Cadiz City police station and the Barangay Peace Action Team arrested Del Rosario in a hot pursuit operation.
