ILOILO City – A man landed in jail for stabbing his brother-in-law around 10:16 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, in Barangay Benedicto, Jaro district.
The 30-year-old Errol John Gulmatico, a resident of the said place, was temporarily detained at the La Paz police station as there is no custodial facility yet at the Iloilo City Police Station 9 (ICPS-9) in Jaro.
According to Captain Jeffrey Delgado, officer-in-charge of ICPS-9, while having a drinking binge, a heated argument over a computer shop ensued between Gulmatico and the victim identified as Alfin Prado of Barangay Mansaya, Lapuz district.
“Nagainuman ni sila kag nagsigawan, nagbaisay. So amo na lang to gulpi na lang nagbunot sang iya kutsilyo ang suspek kag ginbuno [four times] sa likod ang victim,” Delgado told Panay News.
He added that the two had an old grudge.
The 44-year-old victim sustained wounds on the back of his body. He was recuperating at Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district./PN
