ILOILO – A 33-year-old man was stabbed in Barangay Binangkilan, Santa Barbara town past 11 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28.
Gregorio Bacus Amban, a resident of Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental, succumbed to a fatal wound on his chest.
Authorities identified the suspect as John Mark Javier, 27, and a resident of Pilar, Capiz.
“Tungod lang gid to sa cord sang razor. Bale nagakatulog ako mga 11 p.m., siya ni hubog. Ginpasibangdan ‘ya ko nga ako nagkuha sang charger tapos gulpi sinumbag ‘ya ko,” Javier said.
Amban was drunk, he further claimed.
“Naggwa gani ako para maglikaw, gin-apas ‘ya ko kag lampusan sang helmet. Naigu ‘ko sa ulo, tapos nakakita ko ni sang kutsilyo, ginbuno ko na lang siya. Pero wala gid ko kabalo ngaa amo to nahimu ko,” Javier said.
The suspect was detained at the Santa Barbara Municipal Police Station, facing frustrated murder charges./PN
