ILOILO City – A 33-year-old man landed in a hospital after he got stabbed by his uncle in Barangay Binalud, Alimodian, Iloilo.
Jason Bernales, a farmer and a resident of Barangay Binalud, sustained stab wounds on the body. He was recuperating at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district.
His 70-year-old uncle Alexander Almendral, also a resident of Barangay Binalud, was tagged as suspect.
According to police investigation, Bernales and Almendral were having a drinking binge together with the latter’s son around 7 p.m. on Monday.
A heated argument ensued between Bernales and the Almendrals. It was not immediately clear what triggered the altercation.
Bernales choked his cousin, police said, prompting Almendral to stab him. Bernales retaliated by hitting his uncle using a hard object on the head.
Almendral got injured and was also rushed to the Western Visayas Medical Center./PN
