CAPIZ – A 23-year-old man attempted to bring a firearm into the Regional Trial Court -Branch 21 in Mambusao town where he was scheduled to attend a hearing for a relative.
The suspect, Jereil A. Olog from Barangay Maliao, Tapaz town, was apprehended.
Security guard PJay Barrera Ogbac, following standard court protocol, inspected Olog’s bag before granting him entry.
Olog was found in possession of an unlicensed .45 pistol, along with 12 live rounds and two magazines.
The suspect is now facing charges for violations of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and the Commission on Elections gun ban.
Olog served a prison sentence last year on theft and murder charges, police said./PN
