
GUIMARAS – A man who owned an unlicensed firearm was able to escape during a police operation at Sitio Santalan in Barangay Dolores, Nueva Valencia.
Personnel of Nueva Valencia Police Station entered the house of the suspect, identified only as “Lorenzo,” at around 5:15 a.m. on Monday to serve a search warrant.
However, the suspect was able to escape and is now the subject of a manhunt operation.
Recovered from his house was a caliber .38 revolver with five rounds of ammunition.
“Though the subject person was at large, we recovered the firearm. I congratulate all the units involved in the implementation of the search warrant,” said Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky.
The suspect will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the illegal possession of unlicensed firearms./PN
