NEGROS Occidental – A gun and ammunition were seized from a 46-year-old man in Barangay Lantad, Silay City in this province.
Officers of the Silay Component City Police Station and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Unit served alias “Benjie” a search warrant around 10:25 a.m. on Saturday, November 23.
Recovered were one caliber .38 revolver, two live cartridges for the said caliber and two live cartridges for caliber .45 firearm.
“Let’s maintain the intensity of our effort so that these loose firearms be accounted and cannot be used in the commission of crimes,” said Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of Police Regional Office 6, who also commended the operatives for the intensified campaign against loose firearms.
Benjie is now under police custody, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act)./PN
