BACOLOD City – A 50-year-old man was hacked to death in Hacienda Sicaba Monte, Barangay San Pablo, Manapla, Negros Occidental.
Jimmy Agravio, a resident of the barangay, was attacked around 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. He sustained wounds on his head and neck and was declared dead on arrival at the Saint Anne Cadiz District Hospital.
Manapla police identified the suspect as Vicente Gonzales, 33 years old, and also a resident of Barangay San Pablo.
Police said Agravio was having a drinking binge with his friends at the house of alias “Alex” when the suspect arrived and joined them.
A commotion later erupted between the victim and the suspect, prompting the latter to hack the former.
Gonzales was arrested in a hot pursuit operation by the officers of the Manapla Municipal Police Station./PN
