Mandaluyong fugitive caught in Dumarao

DUMARAO, Capiz – After six years of hiding, a man accused of raping his daughter in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila was arrested in Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Dumarao, Capiz.

Domingo Diaz Jr., 45, was a construction worker and native of Barangay Calapawan, Dumarao. He was listed the No. 4 most wanted person of the Mandaluyong City police station.

The arrest was effected on May 3 by combined elements of the Dumarao municipal police station, Capiz Police Provincial Office and Mandaluyong City police.

Diaz had three arrest warrants issued by the following:

* Judge Juliet Manalosan Garpar of the Regional Trial Court (RTC), National Capital Region (NCR), Branch 279, Madaluyong City on Jan. 19, 2017 – for rape through sexual assault, Criminal Case No. R-MND-17-00120-CR

* Judge Imelda Portes-Saulog, RTC NCR, Branch 214, Mandaluyong City – for rape through sexual assault, Criminal Case No. R-MND-17-00121-CR ; and rape under Article 266-A (1), Revised Penal Code, Criminal Case No. R-MND- 17-00124-CR; both were issued on Jan. 23, 2017

* Judge Anthony B. Fama, RTC NCR, Branch 277, Mandaluyong City – for rape (under Article 266-A(1) in relation to Article 266-B, Revised Penal Code, issued on Aug. 7, 2017

Diaz disappeared from Mandaluyong City after his daughter alleged the rape in 2016.

The bail bond fixed for his temporary liberty was fixed at P200,000 for each of the two cases of rape through sexual assault. But for his sole rape charge, no bail bond was recommended.

Diaz was detained at the Dumarao police station. He would be transferred to the Mandaluyong police station./PN
