ILOILO City – A wanted man charged with violating the smoking ordinance in Mandaluyong City was arrested in Barangay Cano-an, Estancia, Iloilo on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
Suspect Norvin Baloso, 32, was taken to the Estancia police station.
According to Police Lieutenant Arniel Buraga, Estancia police chief, Baloso was arrested around 3:20 p.m. The arrest warrant for violation of the Omnibus Anti-Smoking Ordinance was issued by Judge Eduardo Cruz Solangon Jr. of the Municipal Trial Court – Branch 98 in Mandaluyong City.
Buraga said the suspect violated an ordinance in the aforementioned city and did not pay the corresponding penalty; thus, he was charged in court.
The suspect will be transferred to Mandaluyong City this week, the police chief added.
The court recommended a P2,000 bail bond for his temporary liberty./PN
