ILOILO City – A 71-year-old woman died in a fire that hit a house in Barangay Sta. Rosa, Mandurriao district on Wednesday night.
Authorities said Lea Fernandez was trapped inside their house.
According to Marianito Fernandez, they were in Jaro district when the fire broke out and Lea, who was bedridden, was the only one left in their house.
The Bureau of Fire Protection – Iloilo City said the blaze reached “third alarm status.”
As of this writing, arson investigators from BFP-Iloilo City were still investigating the cause of the blaze./PN
