ILOILO City – He allegedly obstructed vehicular traffic, yelled at a police officer and resisted arrest.
All these led to the detention of a 39-year-old resident of Barangay Pali, Mandurriao district.
Joel Opinion was hauled to the custodial facility of the Mandurriao police station around 7:18 p.m. on Monday, a police report showed.
Opinion obstructed vehicular traffic by parking his blue Nissan Sentra sedan in the middle of a road in Barangay Q. Abeto in the district around 7:05 p.m., locals told the police.
Police Officer 2 Louie Alilano responded and told Opinion, “Sir, palihog i-park lang sa higad, ga-obstruct ikaw sa traffic flow,” stated the police report.
But, Alilano said, an irked Opinion yelled at him, “Ngaa pahalinon mo ko di ya? Indi ko di maghalin. Ano problema mo?”
Moreover, Alilano said Opinion smelled of liquor at the time, suggesting that he was drunk.
Opinion resisted when Alilano arrested him – for “disobedience of a lawful order” – but was later subdued, the officer told their station./PN
