ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) launched a manhunt against the suspect in the killing of a woman in a motel in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao district on Saturday, April 1.

A photo of the suspect was released by the police yesterday but it declined to name him pending verification.

Police Lieutenant Joebert Amado, deputy commander of the Mandurriao police station, said the photo was released after the witness signed an affidavit that the one captured in the closed-circuit television camera of the motel was the man who was with the victim entering the motel early Saturday morning.

The victim identified as Christine Gabayeron, 38, was found dead inside a room of the Queen’s Court Drive-in Hotel. She sustained cuts on her face, neck and chest, police said.

The victim, however, died due to head injuries from being hit several times with a bottle, based on the result of the autopsy performed by Dr. Owen Lebaquin, retired medico legal officer of the Police Regional Office 6.

Amado added they considered the suspect armed and dangerous.

“Sa nature sang ginhimu niya nga ginpatay niya ang biktima ma-consider naton nga armed and dangerous ang suspect. Kay makita man sa nature sang gin-obra niya sa biktima nga wala gid ‘ni siya kaluoy nga ginpatay,” he added.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Albert Sy, chief of the Mandurriao police station, is offering a P10,000 reward to whoever could give information leading to the arrest the suspect./PN
