BACOLOD City – The city government will provide financial assistance and food vouchers to Manokan Country tenants who would avail of the stalls at the temporary location.
Councilor Celia Flor, chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) committee on market, said each qualified tenant will receive P20,000.
“Only tenants who agreed to occupy the temporary location can avail themselves of the financial aid after the city government had set some conditions on the relocation,” she said.
She added: “Tenants should have an updated payment and if there are arrears, they need to pay 10 percent of the total amount of arrears.”
Earlier, Manokan Country tenants were given until January 28 to transfer to their temporary spaces at the north wing of SM City terminal hub to make way for the construction of the new Manokan Country building by the SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SPHI).
Today, SPHI will start the board-up at the Manokan Country area in Barangay 12.
The private firm constructed 24 stalls in the temporary location but only 17 Manokan Country tenants were qualified to avail so far./PN
