MANILA – The UniTeam of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is headed to a landslide victory.

In the latest partial and unofficial tally of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) a little past 12 a.m. today, the only son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos has garnered 26,313,353 votes with around 81.80 percent of election returns already transmitted.

At distant second place is Vice President Leni Robredo with 12,554,852 votes, while at third place is senator and boxing champion Manny Pacquiao with 2,713,597 votes.

Marcos Jr.’s formidable showing in yesterday’s elections came 36 years after his father’s corrupt totalitarian regime was driven out of Malacañang Palace in 1986 by a popular uprising called EDSA People Power Revolution.

At fourth place is Aksyon Demokratiko presidential bet and Manila mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso with 1,647,543 votes, followed by Sen. Panfilo Lacson with 781,151 votes.

The rest of the presidential race rankings were as follows: Faisal Mangondato (146,690); former presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella (89,647); Ka Leody de Guzman (75,608); Norberto Gonzales (71,266); and Jose Montemayor Jr. (48,857).

But even if victory is already in sight, the camp of Marcos Jr. said they were on “guarded optimism” until all the votes have been counted and the former senator has been proclaimed.

“Hindi kami magpapahinga hangga’t hindi naii-stabilize itong ginagawang transmission of election results from the precinct level,” Marcos Jr.’s spokesperson Atty. Vic Rodriguez said.

“We have always been confident on what we’re doing (but) we are never complacent,” he added. “It’s not over till it’s over. Sana magtuluy-tuloy ‘yung ganitong resulta.”

Duterte-Carpio, the outgoing Davao City mayor, was also ahead by a mile in the vice presidential race with 26,303,302 votes.

In far second is Sen. Francis Pangilinan with 7,873,849 votes, followed by Senate President Vicente Sotto III (7,021,487); Dr. Willie Ong (1,635,028); and former Manila City mayor Lito Atienza (208,471).

Others trailing in the vice presidential race are Manuel Lopez (119,564), Walden Bello (79,568), Carlos Serapio (69,705) and Rizalito David (43,050).

In the senatorial race, action star Robin Padilla is the surprise top vote getter with 21,950,226 votes so far, followed by comebacking senator Loren Legarda with 20,534,221.

Placing from third to seventh place are broadcaster Raffy Tulfo (19,791,289), Sherwin Gatchalian (17,511,157), Francis Escudero (17,319,664), Mark Villar (16,357,596) and Alan Peter Cayetano (16,303,999).

Completing the top 12 senatorial bets are Joel Villanueva (15,793,727), Juan Miguel Zubiri (15,770,055) and Jose Victor Ejercito (13,386,122), Risa Hontiveros (13,232,709) and Jinggoy Estrada (12,625,247)./PN
