ILOILO City – The new director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 6 is Emerson Margate. He would formally assume his new post Monday next week.
Margate was the director of PDEA in Region 7 (Central Visayas). PDEA’s central office ordered him to swap posts with his PDEA-6 counterpart, Wardley Getalla.
According to PDEA-6 spokesperson David Garcia, 103 personnel of PDEA-6 would be swapping posts with their counterparts in Region 7, too, but the transfer would likely be “by batches.”
The measured swapping would ensure a smooth turnover of facilities and documents, said Garcia.
Getalla received the relief order on July 31.
According to Garcia, the PDEA revamp was nationwide.
“The movement of personnel is part of the usual reshuffling in our organization. Directors and other personnel come and go,” he said.
Garcia said only four PDEA-6 people would remain in their posts – him and three “highly-technical personnel .”
Prior to his Central Visayas assignment, Margate was the director of PDEA Region 5 (Bicol Region)./PN
