BACOLOD City – Police raided a marijuana plantation at Sitio Handalgo, Barangay Nataban in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental yesterday morning.

San Carlos City police arrested the plantation’s caretakers identified as 27-year-old Armando Quejado and 30-year-old Peter Loar, both residents of the village.

The raiding team also uprooted at least 57 fully-grown stalks of marijuana plants from the plantation which was located approximately 35 kilometers from the city proper.

The seized marijuana plants have a combined weight of two kilograms and have a market value of P240,000.

The suspects are now detained at the San Carlos City Police Station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
