KALIBO, Aklan – A 27-year-old man was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Pook here.
Jerald Esmeralda of Barangay Poblacion here was nabbed after he sold a sachet of suspected marijuana to an undercover officer for P500 around 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 4, police said.
When frisked, he yielded another sachet of suspected illegal drugs, the police added.
Aklan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit chief Police Major Frensy Andrade said Esmeralda’s usual clients are high school students and tricycle drivers.
“Kadalasan mga barkada ni Esmeralda at estudyante na naging mga pusher dahil tinuturuan niya gumamit at magtinda ng ilegal na droga. Nagtutulak din siya ng shabu. Halos weekly siya kumukuha ng supply dahil sa dami ng kanyang mga runners,” he added.
The suspect was detained in the custodial facility of the Kalibo municipal police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./(With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
