BACOLOD City – Thirty-one local government unit (LGU) booths inside the Panaad Park and Stadium will open their doors for a week to hold the “MassKara sa Panaad”.

It will be the first time for the MassKara Festival to be held at the said venue.

Negros Occidental provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II said “MassKara sa Panaad” will be held from Oct. 10 to 16 as a collaboration between the provincial government and the city government of Bacolod.

The participation of 31 LGUs is highly-anticipated and plans are now being discussed between the members of the Association of Chief Executives (ACE) in Negros Occidental led by Victorias City’s Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez.

Bacolod City’s Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez wrote Negros Occidental governor Eugenio Jose Lacson last month, inquiring about the availability of Panaad Park for the MassKara Festival.

Lacson responded by ordering the park’s renovations to be hastened and completed in time for the festivities.

Wednesday last week, the Bacolod and Victorias city mayors met with Atty. Pinky Mirano-Ocampo of Yuhum Bacolod Inc. to discuss the collaboration./PN
