BACOLOD City – Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez clarified reports that job order (JO) employees of this city have yet to receive their December 2023 salaries.
The mayor explained that the last day of work for JOs assigned to the Department of Public Services, particularly the street cleaners, was Dec. 30, which was already the cutoff period.
“Indi nga wala mabayaran, kundi na cut off sila sang Dec. 30, [2023],” Benitez cited, adding that their salaries were already released this January.
City Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said not all were affected by the delay since the cutoff for other JOs was on Dec. 29.
“Kanugon pa sang isa ka adlaw nila nga obra kon indi sila maswelduhan,” she said.
But Gelvolea mentioned that their P5,000 gratuity pay was released in December of last year./PN
