BACOLOD City – Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry head Frank Carbon told fellow businessmen to “hang on” as Western Visayas restarts its economy.

Carbon lauded the recent return of fast craft services between Bacolod City and Iloilo City.

On Saturday, the Philippine Coast Guard-Negros Occidental logged a total of 353 inbound and outbound passengers on the first day of the resumption of fast craft trips.

Carbon also lauded the national government’s Inter-Agency Task Force’s (IATF) omnibus guidelines for inter-zonal and intra-zonal movements, which allow the unhampered movement of people and goods.

“The national IATF is encouraging all LGUs (local government units) to start stirring up their local economy,” he said.

He further stated the Landbank of the Philippines and the Development Bank of the Philippines have funds for local government units to create programs to regain the confidence of the local businesses to open-up their stores and reinvest.

“Bacolod today, tomorrow the whole region,” Carbon said./PN
