AKLAN – A meat vendor was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Kalibo, Aklan.
The 35-year-old John Jed Torda Suante sold two small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu in exchange for P4,000 buy-bust money to a poseur buyer at around 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 23.
The operation was conducted by the Aklan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Kalibo municipal police station.
Suante has been monitored by the Aklan PDEU for two months.
“Siya rin ang supplier ng illegal na droga, malakihan ang pagbebenta. Dito mismo sa kanyang bahay pumapasok ang mga drug personalities upang bumili,” said Aklan PDEU chief Lieutenant Colonel Frenzy Andrade.
Suante also allegedly sold suspected shabu to drug surrenderees added Andrade.
Operatives recovered P13,344 in cash and three pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu.
The suspect also yielded a needle crusher, two pieces of empty plastic sachets containing residue of suspected shabu, three pieces of aluminum foil and a pair of medical scissors.
Suante will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (With a report from Boy Ryan Zabal)/PN
