SAN JOSE, Antique – The Western-Visayas-based 3×3 basketball teams earned their qualification slots during the Antique leg of the MDC Sports Inc. 3×3 League at the Binirayan Sports Complex here on Feb. 29.
The apparent winner in the 21-and-under category was team Labao Mambusao of Johnluis Gaspar Escobar, Jan Jan Catig Jaguio, Paul Holden and Joperson Ambrocio Vista.
Earning the bragging rights of the 18-and-under category, meanwhile, is team Gian, while the SMAC team of Quentin Parrenas, Scott Concepcion, Ianne Gabriel Hervias and Mark Wilson Alinsog ruled the 15-and-under category.
The squads from the St. John’s Institute-Bacolod, on the other hand, captured the trophies of the 12-and under and 10-and-under categories.
Tabby Aldwyn Espartero, Ryton Celis, Carlos Miguel Reonal and Aethan Yap bannered the 12-and-under team, while it was Simon Limsiaco, Lance Soberano, Christopher Thomas Ong and Luke Kumar for the 10-and-under.
The victors of the Antique qualifying leg will now advance to the National Finals at the Marikina Sports Complex slated on May 11./PN
