IBAJAY, Aklan – Mechor Memorial School Inc. emerged as champion in the Aklan qualifying leg of the 2019 NBTC basketball at the Ibajay Gym here.
Melchor Memorial clinched the Aklan leg crown after defeating Aklan Polytechnic College in a tightly-contested one-game gold medal match, 68-60.
Vince Cabales was hailed as the Most Outstanding Player on Sunday for converting crucial baskets in Melchor Memorial’s victory.
As additional incentive for topping the Aklan leg, Melchor Memorial will play in the NBTC Regional Finals on February 2020 in Ibajay for a chance to represent Western Visayas in NBTC National Finals.
On their way to the championship round, Melchor Memorial ousted St. Joseph School while Aklan Polytechnic defeated Naisud National High School.
