MerryMart Board approves creation of new subsidiary

THE Board of Directors of MerryMart Consumer Corporation (MerryMart) approved the creation of a wholly-owned subsidiary, MM Consumer Technologies Corp. which will serve as MM’s arm for consumer technology-related ventures.

“MerryMart believes in the importance of consumer-related technology business to complement and deepen its market penetration and ensure its relevance in the consumer market. With how fast the world is changing now, we know the vital importance of being able to properly identify and fulfill both the current and the future needs of consumers,” said MerryMart chairman Edgar “Injap” Sia II.

As previously stated in its IPO Prospectus, MM intends to grow its current business organically as well as through acquisitions and acquire new consumer-related businesses in the long term. The rollout of the MerryMart brand under MMGC will allow MM to venture into other consumer-related businesses in the sunrise sectors in the Philippine consumer space that will add value to its portfolio of consumer-related businesses./PN
