Michele Gumabao returns to pageant stage

AFTER finishing in the Top 15 of Miss Globe 2018, Michele Gumabao is giving beauty pageants another try.

On Instagram, the volleyball star announced that she has submitted her application for Miss Universe Philippines 2020, which is scheduled on May 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“Trading in my sneakers one more time. Submitted my application to be part of the first ever Miss Universe Philippines. Hello, 2020,” she said.

Gumabao is trained by Aces and Queens, the same beauty camp of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa, and Miss World 2013 Megan Young.

She is eyeing to represent Quezon City in Miss Universe Philippines 2020.

Other confirmed applicants under the Aces and Queens camp include Pauline Amelinckx, Maria Isabela Galeria, Apriel Smith, Kia Moreno, Marí Danica Madrid Reynes, Paula Ortega, Riana Pangindian, Lou Dominique Piczon, and Hannah Arnold.

Gumabao first entered the pageant scene in 2018 via Binibining Pilipinas, the former holder of the Miss Universe franchise.

She was part of the winning batch that included Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Intercontinental 2018 Karen Gallman. (ABS-CBN)
