ILOILO City – The municipal building of Mina, Iloilo was robbed.
The treasurer’s office had been forcibly opened, according to employees who discovered the robbery in the morning of Sept. 15.
Two laptops worth P55,000 were stolen, and P1,000 cash.
According to Senior Superintendent Cornelio Salinas, provincial police director, the robbers entered the office by removing the wall-mounted air-conditioner from the outside.
He ordered the Mina police to write an explanation. No cop noticed the robbery even if the police station was just a few meters away from the municipal building.
Salinas ordered Mina policemen to make sure their visibility round the clock.
“Police presence is very important. This is one way of preventing crimes,” he said./PN
