ILOILO City – Two drug suspects – one of them a minor – were caught in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo district.
The 18-year-old Jonas Marambelm and his 16-year-old companion were arrested around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, a police report showed.
Officers from the Arevalo police station staged the sting operation.
They said Marambelm and the minor sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer for P1,100.
When frisked, the suspects yielded three more sachets of suspected shabu, the police added.
Marambelm and the minor were taken to the Arevalo police station. They were charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Marambelm was detained while the minor was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development./PN
