MANILA – Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo will be competing in the 2020 Asian Football Confederation Cup without leading scorer Jordan Mintah.

Mintah had signed up with a Malaysian-based football club.

The Ghanian-native Mintah left the Iloilo City-based football club last week after agreeing to a one-year contract with the Terengganu FC II in Malaysia’s M League next year.

Mintah, who powered Kaya-Iloilo to runner up finishes in the Philippines Football League and Copa Paulino Alcantara early this year, will serve as one of the four reinforcements.

“TFC has announced the signing of new import player Jordan Mintah to join the TFC II team next season. He is playing on a one-year contract signing deal with TFC II for the 2020 Premier League season,” the team said in a statement.

TFC II head coach Roshadi Wahab was all praises with the 24-year-old Mintah, who he said had excellent credentials aside from being one of the top scorers in the PFL this season.

“The presence of the import player means that the TFC II squad’s import player quota is over including the local player quota,” Wahab said./PN
