BACOLOD City – Who will be crowned Miss Bacolod MassKara?

The coronation night will start at 7 p.m. at the University of Saint La Salle-Bacolod coliseum.

Fifteen candidates will vie for three major titles:

* Miss Bacolod MassKara Universe – P150,000 cash prize

* Miss Bacolod MassKara World – P120,000 cash prize

* Miss Bacolod MassKara International – P100,000 cash prize

The first and second runners-up will take home P80,000 and P50,000 cash prizes, respectively.

Pageant director Rodney Ascalon said the winners will automatically represent the city in national beauty pageants.

The judges of the Miss Bacolod MassKara are well-known in the pageant circle, including Miss Universe Philippines 2022, Celeste Cortesi.

Joining her are other former pageant title holders like Erik Lennart Visser, grand winner of Ginoong Pilipinas 2019; Michael Ver Comaling, Mr. National Universe 2022; Hannah Arnold, Binibing Pilipinas International 2021; and Trace Maureen Perez, Miss World Philippines 2021.

Completing the roster of judges are Cary Santiago, a well-known fashion designer who created the national costume of Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados; and Jim Ryan Ros, business development manager and lead makeup mentor of Aces and Queens.

Two former national beauty titlists, Billie Hakenson and Pauline Amelinckx, will be hosting the pageant.

Hakenson was Miss Universe Philippines 2020 fourth runner-up, while Amelinckx was recently crowned Miss Universe Philippines Charity 2022.

Ascalon said the contestants went through rigorous training and mentoring, “and for that alone, they are all winners already.”

He added that this is the first time that winners of the pageant will be given a chance to vie for national titles, “and we are confident that one, if not all of them, will actually have a chance to bring home a national crown and make Bacolod proud.”

While admission is free, due to limited seating capacity, tickets will be handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation, Inc. office, Ascalon added./PN
