MORE than 40 candidates are vying for the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2020, but only one may be crowned the winner at the finals to be held on Sunday, Oct. 25 at the Baguio Country Club.
The coronation event will be aired on GMA-7 at 9 a.m.
MUPO just revealed this year’s crown called “Filipina” on Tuesday.
The glittering headpiece made by pawnshop chain Villarica features the colors of the Philippine flag, with blue, red, and yellow stones which were described as “emblems of dreams, ambition, happiness, pride, self-worth, and empowerment.”
Four lasses from Western Visayas are among the contestants vying for the coveted title – which would give them the chance to compete in the Miss Universe pageant later this year.
They are Christelle Anjali Abello (Aklan), Joecel Marie Robenta (Antique), Rabiya Mateo (Iloilo City), and Kim Chi Crizaldo (Iloilo province).(with report from GMA/PN)
