Miss Universe will have an all-female panel of judges

IT’S OFFICIAL. This year’s Miss Universe Competition will be having an all-female selection committee!

This is a big deal because it’s never happened in the pageant’s six-decade history before. These women will be overseeing both the preliminary and final rounds, which is another first for Miss Universe.

The seven-member panel is made up of entrepreneurs, business leaders, industry experts, and, of course, former Miss Universe titleholders! Here’s a quick guide for you to get to know them better.

Monique Lhuillier

Filipino-American fashion designer Monique Lhuillier’s creations have been worn by Hollywood celebrities and first ladies of the United States! She’s also a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Bui Simon

Bui Simon from Thailand was crowned Miss Universe in 1988 and is the founder of Angel Wings Foundation, which addresses the needs of Thailand’s young and vulnerable citizens with increased educational opportunities.

Janaye Ingram

The corporate executive and political grassroots organizer is also a co-founder of the iconic Women’s March in the United States.

Michelle McLean

Michelle McLean was crowned Miss Universe 1992 and is now an internationally recognized model and television presenter. She’s also the chairperson of the Michelle McLean Children Trust.

Iman Oubou

The Moroccan-American entrepreneur, scientist, and former titleholder is also the founder of a women’s digital platform called SWAAY MEDIA.

Lili Gil Valletta

Lili Gil Valetta is an entrepreneur and the CEO of CulturIntel and CIEN + TV. She’s also a 2018 Women of Excellence Award recipient!

Richelle Singson-Michael

The proud Pinay is an architect and the CEO of Platinum Skies Aviation. She also helped organize the 65th Miss Universe Competition which was held in the Philippines.

The 67th Miss Universe will be held at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday morning, Dec. 17. (Cosmo)
