CAPIZ – After more three days of search, a missing ice cream vendor was found dead past 11 a.m. on May 21 in the waters of Barangay Poblacion Proper, Mambusao town.
The 73-year-old Leodegario Soriano was already in an advanced state of decomposition, according to the search team that found him.
Soriano was last seen alive leaving his house and pedaling his pedicab early morning on May 18 supposedly to buy ice cubes.
He failed to return home but family members and neighbors found his pedicab in the river. They concluded that he like fell from the river’s embankment into the body of water.
A search, rescue and retrieval operation was right away launched by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Capiz Emergency Response Team (CERT), Mambusao DRRMO, Coast Guard Station-Capiz, Capiz Bureau of Fire Protection SRF Marine Fire Unit, Mambusao Bureau of Fire Protection, and barangay officials./PN
