ILOILO – Does Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) have a new bulk water supplier? Homeowners of Savannah subdivision’s Glen C and Glen D projects want to know.
They are concessionaires of MIWD but aside from being billed by the water district, they have been getting another one from a certain “First Pick Resources” since March.
A certain Mrs. Salvaciete, a homeowner, said an engineer of First Pick Resources told her MIWD has tapped their company to supply water to Savannah.
According to Salvaciete, the engineer she did not identify told her First Pick Resources’ contract with MIWD started this February yet.
Over DyOK Aksyon Radyo-Iloilo, Salvaciete wondered if First Pick Resources was legitimate and if MIWD had indeed sought its services.
If such arrangement with MIWD were indeed true, “why weren’t the homeowners notified,” Salvaciete asked.
She said the so-called First Pick Resources engineer also warned her of disconnection should she fail to pay them.
Homeowners already called MIWD’s attention. They submitted the water bills issued by First Pick Resources.
Salvaciete said she received a billing from MIWD covering the period from March 19 to April 21, while First Pick Resources billed her from March 27 to April 24.
MIWD Chairman of Board, Dr. Danilo Encarnacion denied knowledge about the agreement with First Pick Resources.
He advised the complainants to consolidate all their billings and bring it to him at the MIWD today for action to be taken./PN
