Mocha Uson to senators: Slam 2016 polls ‘cheating’ instead

MANILA – Margaux “Mocha” Uson lashed back at senators who criticized her controversial video that she said aimed to encourage Filipinos to discuss federalism.

They should speak up on the “cheating” during the 2016 national elections instead, said the Presidential Communications assistant secretary, also a pro-Duterte blogger.

Ako nagtitimpi lang dito sa ilang mga senador na ito,” she wrote on her Mocha Uson Blog Facebook page. “Matagal niyo nang pinaglalaruan ang taumbayan. Sino ngayon ang mas baboy sa atin?”

Several senators criticized the video as a disgustingly comical approach in informing the public about federalism.

In the video, Uson was seen egging on another pro-Duterte blogger, Andrew Olivar, as the latter danced while singing a jingle with slang terms referring to female private organs – the lyrics included “ipepe,” “idede” and “ipepederalismo” – and touching his crotch and chest.

Nagagalit kayo sa video na sinayaw ni Drew Olivar kesyo binaboy daw ang Pederalismo pero [no reaction] kayo sa issue ng dayaan noong 2016,” Uson said. “Nakinabang ba kayo sa dayaan??? O nakinabang ba ang mga kaibigan ninyo????”

Uson clarified that the video that had gone viral, which was part of the “Good News Game Show,” was not part of the government’s information campaign on federalism.

President Rodrigo Duterte is pushing for the shift to a federal system of government.

Ang laki ng sahod at pondo niyo pero saan niyo ginagamit? Ako na walang natanggap diyan sa Pederalismo na iyan pero sasabihan niyobinabastosko. Kayo ang bumabastos sa katotohanan,” Uson said.

Senators critical of Uson and her video believe the Presidential Communications aide is not fit for the government’s information campaign on the shift to a federal government.

Nancy Binay, who earlier invited Uson to speak on federalism in Senate hearings, urged Malacañang to ask anyone unauthorized to speak on behalf of the Consultative Committee – the body Duterte formed to review the 1987 Constitution – to “disengage” from all federalism-related information drive activities./PN
