ILOILO City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 6 distributed a total of P1,513,534 in assistance to victims of the fire that recently hit a neighborhood in Barangay Salvacion Habog-Habog, Molo district.
Each of the more than 80 affected families received P10,000 Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
Arwin Razo, DSWD-6 assistant regional director for operations, said fire victims also got food packs, and hygiene and sleeping kits.
The family of the three casualties was also given an additional P10,000.
Those who want to help, Razo said, should send it directly to the Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Office.
The massive fire that ravaged Zone 3, Barangay Salvacion Habog-Habog on Dec. 16 left over P6 million in property damage.
It was deemed the largest residential fire in Western Visayas this year./PN
