ILOILO CITY — Fire razed two ancestral houses in Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Passi City, Iloilo Monday afternoon.

The houses owned by Jean Limjuco and Rosalinda Palmares were totally gutted, the Bureau of Fire Protection in Passi City said.

According to Fire Officer 2 Elvis Aguilar, the blaze started from the second floor of Limjuco’s residence around 12 p.m. and eventually burned Palmares’ house.

The fire’s estimated cost of damage was P300,000, Aguilar added.

Officers of the city’s fire station declared a “fire out” around 1:27 p.m.

As of this writing, they have yet to determine what caused the blaze./PN
