ILOILO City – A moneylender was shot on July 9 in Barangay Kirayan Sur, Miag-ao, Iloilo. His helper was wounded.
The 36-year-old Dennis Taba died at the Miag-ao Rural Health Unit for multiple gunshot wounds.
His injured helper Rian Mark Linaming, 32, of Barangay Cabudian, Dueñas, Iloilo, was taken to the Western Visayas Medical Center for a gunshot wound in the back.
According to Miag-ao police station’s Police Captain Marvin Buenavista, the shooting happened at 4:45 p.m. Taba was driving his multicab going home. A lone gunman driving a black motorcycle suddenly riddled Taba with bullets.
Buenavista said they had already identified a suspect and a hot pursuit operation was launched. He, however, declined to name the suspect so as not too jeopardize the operation.
Buenavista said one angle probers are pursuing is family feud. He did not elaborate.
