MANILA – Kib Montalbo scored on a game-winner as the Makati Super Crunch cruised to a 96-94 win over Pampanga Lanterns in the 2019-2020 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Cup at JCSGO Gym in Quezon City.
With both teams knotted at 94-all, the Bacolod City native Montalbo knocked down a buzzer beating jumper against the defense to swing the advantage to the Super Crunch.
The former De La Salle University Green Archers point guard admitted in a post-match interview that it was the biggest shot of his basketball career.
It was his first time to score on a game-winner.
“I’ve worked hard for the past few weeks. My mind-set was to work hard and get back kasi nga I got injured,” he said.
With the victory, the Super Crunch clinched its fourth consecutive win to improve to an 8-1 win-loss slate in the northern division.
