Moraca ‘new WVCIEERD chairman’

The member-institutions sign the Memorandum of Agreement to reaffirm their commitments to Western Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development. DOST6/WVCIEERD

ILOILO City – Western Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (WVCIEERD) elected Central Philippines State University’s President Dr. Aladino Moraca as the new chairman succeeding the 8-year service of West Visayas State University’s President Dr. Luis Sorolla Jr.

The election was conducted during the 1st Research and Development Executive Committee meeting of the WVCIEERD held last May 10, 2019 at Eon Centennial Plaza Hotel where Iloilo State College of Fisheries’ President Dr. Godelyn G. Hisole was elected as the vice chairperson of the consortium.

Moraca and Hisole will be serving the consortium for three years.

The member-institutions had their ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement to reaffirm their commitments to WVCIEERD.

At present, WVCIEERD is composed of 21 member-institutions which are mostly government and private universities and colleges in Western Visayas.

They are the leading institutions conducting R&D activities related to industry, energy, and other emerging technologies in the region. (With a report from the Department of Science and Technology VI/PN)
