MORE Filipino workers are needed in Taiwan, the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) said over the weekend.
MECO board chair Cheloy Garafil said Taiwanese employers prefer Filipinos in the semiconductor, agriculture, and service industries – with entry-level salaries ranging from P50,000 to P100,000.
Aside from this, Garafil said Filipino students could also go to Taiwan to study.
Mga college students, senior high school students to study courses in Taiwan. In the next few months, continuing naman ito. We will be spearheading some projects.”
Recruitment agencies and overseas Filipino workers were urged to ensure that they strictly comply with all the requirements set forth by the government of Taiwan on the redeployment of OFWs, MECO earlier said.
There are around nearly 200,000 Filipinos in Taiwan, most or 160,000 of which are part of the workforce there. (ABS-CBN News)
